fabric friday: elephants

elephants are my favorite animal... i found it interesting, while searching Spoonflower this week, to see just how diverse the elephant icon can be...if you wanted to, you could feasibly and legitimately put an elephant in every room of your house (not a real one of course) in a way that would work and make sense... use the blue for a shower curtain in the bathroom...use the adorable paisley design for bedding in the nursery...use the kitschy elephants with umbrellas design stretched to create a canvas to hang on the wall in the office... use the elegant elephant repeated print design for living room curtains or that arm chair in the library..... cheers to the diversity of the elephant! no wonder they're my favorite animal! oh and cheers to a Friday... sending all you readers wishes for a wonderful weekend!

really looking forward this vacation for some rest & relaxation! nothing says leisurely like a slow bike ride on cruiser style on a beautiful day along the beach or a umbrella drink by the pool in reclining chairs... being outside and relaxation usually go hand in hand for me... and being by the ocean is a cherry on top...hope your weekend is as relaxing as mine promises to be wherever you are, even if it's not at the beach... sweet week : makin' whoopie!

ya know that song that Ella Fitzgerald sings called "Makin' Whoopee"? well this post has nothing to do with a guy getting married, having a baby, cheating on his wife, applying for divorce and then deciding that it's cheaper to just keep his wife because he'll have to pay his wife or else be thrown into jail... it's a pretty good listen but this post is not about that at all...instead, this post is a prediction for the baking world...write this down... "whoopie pies are the HOT new dessert item"... pretty sure about it...i mean just look at that scrumptious photo above! :) now the question, will they be as HOT as cupcakes have been or will cake pops swoop in to claim the #1 Sweet Spot? ponder that over the weekend, folks... that's your homework ...you should have a whoopie pie or cake pop while coming up with the answer... i know Starbucks is carrying them both now :)

Happy Friday, everyone! we booked a much-needed vacation to Florida this week! (eek!!! woohoo!!!) so this fabric design caught my eye since i'll soon be near the ocean and probably be seeing some critters that resemble these...although i like their funny, free, playful shapes on paper, i would most likely scream should i meet them in person at the beach... love this color combination from Endemic via Spoonflower
