sweet week : giant cream puffs

these beautiful dessert buns made an appearance at our Easter lunch on Sunday, by way of my cousin, Michelle, who made them from scratch... she remembered having them when she was in Switzerland and the little treats made such an impression, that she found a recipe and shared the homemade delights with us...i can not, for the life of me remember what they were called but i want to say it was something like "Swiss Buns"... they consist of rich almond flavored whipped cream sandwiched between a halved doughy, buttery roll (which in itself is treat enough) and sprinkled with powdered sugar for a pretty and sweet addition... they looked like huge cream puff sandwiches and i ate two, yep, two... enjoy the photos below...my mouth is watering, just looking at them
