wanted to share this cool upcoming event with you that Just Creations will be putting on...lots of beautiful, fair trade, oriental RUGS in Louisville for purchase...here's the press release with all the nitty gritty:

Each year, Just Creations offers a special 4-day Oriental Rug Event, featuring a collection of more than 300 hand knotted, heirloom-quality rugs made by fairly paid adults in Pakistan. Sizes range from 2’ x 3’s to 10’ x 14’s, as well as runners in varying sizes.

This event is one-of-a-kind for Louisville and offers the community a chance to dress up their home while supporting artisans in developing countries. The variety of sizes in the rugs allows something for every price range so that anyone can take home and enjoy a piece of Pakistan in their own home.

The event begins on Wednesday March 28 and runs through Saturday the 31. Store Hours are Monday-Saturday, 10AM-6PM

color inspiration : africa's gain

found out my dear friend Joanna is moving to Ethiopia (which seems to be a hot spot for my friends lately) for two years teach kids from a missionary family...our loss is a great gain for Africa... if you'd like to help her out with raising money and nab a cool piece of art from a local artist for yourself, come on out to the new Java Brewing Company on Bardstown Road starting MAY 28th and buy some art by a bunch of our local artist friends and me...i'll get a post up soon of what i'm contributing ...the show will go on display May 28th... during her time in Kentucky she's definitely made a mark as a barista and art teacher, artist, photographer, musician and hospitable hostess with the mostest... but perhaps most importantly, Joanna has been a great friend to many including Posies & Plume, helping out with photo shoots and setting up wedding decor... she will be missed a lot! i'm telling you, she's awesome and will be a huge blessing to the missionary family she will be serving so come out and support her on May 28th! see facebook invite here
