lovebirds gettin' hitched...

Wanted to post all of the photos from our July 30th wedding at Farmington Historic Home but had to cut it down to these... special thanks to buddy, Lang Leichhardt of Lang Thomas Photography ...he did a great job...see for yourself!

family photo with Taloulah

i designed the invitation/program/signs/everything myself &
printed off my mom & dad's laser jet printer...total $ saver!

these were the favors...Matt & I are both artists so we wanted something that symbolized art (a pencil) but something that went with the outdoorsy feel...we ordered these bark pencils from Pelham-Grayson & tied on a quote that we wanted our guests to remember with twine- "Let love & faithfulness never leave you. Write them on the tablet of your heart." from Proverbs

i made these moss covered initials for us...
a very messy craft project, indeed!

i love these shoes! wanted something fun & comfy since i was going to be on my feet all day & walking around outside on grass...adorable, red & comfortable! Peony by Sofft

dress by Watters

bridesmaid dresses by Watters WTOO in macadamia
check out the pockets!

earrings from Target

hair flower by Posies & Plume & hair by Erika Ross at Twisted Salon

flowers by Nanz & Kraft - hydrangeas & garden roses

lapel pin by Posies & Plume

my best friend & Posies & Plume model, Lindsay, was matron of honor
bridesmaids' hair flowers by Posies & Plume

my sister & Posies & Plume model, Emily, was maid of honor

i took profile pictures of us and traced them to create these silhouettes...we used this instead of a guest book for all our friends and family to sign the matte board

after the ceremony, folks picked up their name cards to find out what "bird" table they sat at

my crafty, talented Aunt Ruth (truly a family affair) made these paper birds out scrapbook paper from her own template...we tied them in trees throughout the grounds

each table was named a different kind of bird from Doves to Robins...the bridal party's table was called "The Lovebird Table"

the window was taken from Matt's grandma's old house after they tore it down & all of the wood stumps used in the decorating came from his family's farm

my friend Lesli, also a bridesmaid made this adorable flag garland that read "EB loves Matty"

All the decorations were made by us and our sweet family & friends helped us assemble them the day of. The pitch-in attitude from all of the people we love really made the wedding special to us. We wanted a fun, elegant, whimsical feel for the wedding and the location in the gardens at Farmington made a perfect canvas on which to paint our ideal day. We also wanted a "lovebird" theme so all of the tables had different bird names & different elements reflected the bird theme too like the cake topper & ring-bearer's pillow. The invitations even announced that the "Lovebirds are gettin' hitched."

ring bearer's pillow

ring from Forever 21

our friend Brooks Ritter played the music for the ceremony

we set up a homemade photo booth complete with props for people to take pictures

our friend & Posies & Plume model, Jared manned the golf cart

that's our fun invitation that i designed

Jill, an old friend and uber talented pillow-maker/owner of The Scout House did a great job coordinating the wedding...here she is going over details...so organized, all the groomsmen thought she coordinated weddings for a living

friend & rockstar, Jamie Barnes performed the ceremony for us...it was his first wedding & he did a GREAT job!

these cousins & troopers helped set up all the decorations the day before the wedding & were fabulous flower girls & ring bearer

we clothes-pinned all the name cards on twine & displayed them on an old hinged window that I scavenged off the side of the road on junk day... man, i love junk days...this is one of my best finds & for FREE!

Kingsley's catered & it was delicious!

guests used their pencil favors to draw on the kraft paper (from Paper Mart) that we used as a table runner

the cake table was the one thing i wouldn't let anyone help me set up & i'm glad i got to do it just the way i wanted because it turned out better than i expected

i sewed these two lovebirds for the cake topper to mimic the design on our invitations

Melanie Gunn made my wedding cake...beautiful & delicious & it meant so much since she's been making birthday cakes for my family since i was in 1st grade

Matt is more of a pie fan than a cake fan so instead of a groom's cake he got pies from Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen

Chris & Jimmy got us a canoe!
too bad we weren't near water so that we could
paddle away into the sunset

it was my Grandma's birthday so we had all the guests sing "Happy Birthday" to her

first dance to Ray Lamontagne's "You are the Best Thing"... Ray is my favorite!

check out our garland tissue paper poof balls that we made and hung in the tent... a VERY time consuming project...lucky to have had so much help!

Hay DJ spun the tracks for us...obviously, a good time was had by all as they danced to our customized playlist
