ending this "local EATS + DRINKS week" on a sweet note with the Homemade Pie & Ice Cream Kitchen ... i can remember going to this place ever since i was little and getting big ice cream scoops of delightful flavors on a sugar cones... here's a photo from the original location that i grew up going to in the Highlands... my favorite dessert from this place is a caramel-covered yellow cupcake (pictured below) heated up with a scoop of coffee ice cream on the side... when we got married, Matt, being more of a pie guy opted for the pies (pictured below) from this place over a groom's cake... they're amazing!... photos taken from the pie kitchen's website
